Police arrested two teens Monday in connection with a shooting that sent an Uber driver to the hospital in Pittsburgh's Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood earlier this month. Pittsburgh police said two 15-year-old boys are facing multiple charges after a man drove himself to the Pittsburgh Police Zone 5 station along Washington Boulevard after being shot in the hand and thigh on April 14. The victim, who has not been identified, told officers following the incident that he worked as an Uber driver and picked up three individuals. According to a criminal complaint, the driver arrived at the destination when one of the men opened the rear driver's side door and demanded that the driver exit the vehicle. Another individual then pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the victim's head, the complaint continued. The driver refused to exit the vehicle. The complaint said the teen standing outside the vehicle then shot the driver, hitting him in the hand and thigh. The complaint said all three individuals were captured on video from a car dash camera. Police said the driver was able to escape and drove himself to the police station. The man said the incident occurred near the intersection of Gladefield and Oberlin streets in Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar. Officials said a one-round ShotSpotter alert was also registered at the location where the victim said the gunshots were fired. Two teens are facing multiple charges, including felony aggravated assault, robbery, and conspiracy. They both remain in the Allegheny County Jail. It is unclear if the third individual will be charged.
